Italian rider being monitored after crash

After more detailed medical investigations and radiographs on the VFT Racing rider at hospital in Melbourne, Menghi, who crashed during preseason testing at Phillip Island, has been confirmed to be suffering a major fracture in the left acetabulum (pelvis) and a possible rupture of the acromioclavicular ligament.

The mobile clinic and Dr Lorina S.Giorgi are constantly monitoring Menghi’s condition, who has remained active and never lost his sense of humor; playing down the situation to those close to him.

Fabio Menghi: "I'm very sad for what happened, but we know that for a rider this is part of the game. Of course I'm not demoralized, I was in fact improving lap times and I'll be very excited on the day of my return. I'd like to thank all the people who are supporting us and the loads of fans that made me feel their proximity with their messages. I'll keep you constantly informed about my conditions. Bye everyone!"
