Italian returnee to test Ducati for three days

Marco Melandri is to test the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati machine at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli this week. The WorldSBK race winner, who returns to the championship next year, will be in action from Monday to Wednesday.

2016 riders Chaz Davies and Davide Giugliano will also be testing at the Italian venue this week, joining Melandri for the first two days. Next year, Davies and Melandri will reunite as team-mates – having previously raced BMW bikes together in 2013 – whereas Giugliano continues to search for a ride ahead of 2017.

Marco Melandri previously raced in World Superbike between 2011 and 2014, amassing 100 race starts from which he achieved 19 victories, 49 podium finishes, 1 pole position and 14 front row starting positions. He will return to racing after a year on the sidelines, which in-turn followed a brief return to MotoGP in 2015.

You can follow the Misano test through the WorldSBK Facebook and Twitter channels.
