Manufacturers at Magny-Cours

A look at how the manufacturers have performed at Magny-Cours in the past

Aprilia have won three times at Magny-Cours: with Max Biaggi in the second race in 2010 and a double 1-2 two years ago, when Marco Melandri and Sylvain Guintoli swapped wins. Aprilia started from pole here last year with Leon Haslam- that was their last pole to date.

BMW have scored two podium finishes at Magny-Cours: Leon Haslam finished in third in Race 1 in 2011, while Marco Melandri was the runner up the following year in Race 1, when he didn't have the speed to challenge Sylvain Guintoli, who pulled away with his Ducati.

The last of Ducati's 13 wins at Magny-Cours came in 2012 in Race 1, thanks to Sylvain Guintoli. After that year, Ducati endured a two-year podium drought here before Chaz Davies finished second last year in Race 2.

Honda won twice here: the first time in 2005, when Chris Vermeulen won from pole in Race 1 and the second time the following year, when James Toseland won Race 1. Since that last win, Honda has climbed on the podium a further six times here, finishing third in five of them.

In the last two weekends here Honda have finished third with three different riders: Jonathan Rea in Race 1 in 2014; Leon Haslam in Race 2 in 2014; Sylvain Guintoli in Race 1 in 2015.
They’ve also had their share of bad luck, as Jonathan Rea fell twice while leading: in Race 1 in 2012 and in Race 2 in 2014.

Kawasaki- on paper- is the bike to beat here as last year they won both races with Jonathan Rea, recording a 1-2 in Race 1, while in Race 2 both Kawasakis were on the podium again, this time with Sykes in third.

Kawasaki's strength here is also underlined by the fact that they won five of the last seven races, allowing an Aprilia double only in 2014, when in both wet races the best result for Kawasaki was a double fourth by Sykes.

MV Agusta have always scored points at Magny-Cours in 2014 and 2015. They recorded their best result when last year Leon Camier finished fifth in Race 1.

Yamaha is level with Kawasaki for wins at Magny-Cours: five each, the last one coming from Cal Crutchlow in 2010 from pole in Race 1. The last factory team appearance for Yamaha here was in 2011, when Marco Melandri and Eugene Laverty recorded three podium finishes out of possible four (Laverty was 5th in Race 1).
