Terol to replace Cluzel at Jerez

Friday, 18 September 2015 20:59 GMT

The race for the championship title ends at Jerez for Cluzel. The Frenchman crashes in the second free practice session: fractured tibia. Nico Terol will be riding alongside Lorenzo Zanetti seeking the Manufacturer's Title.

In the second free practice session the duel between Cluzel and Sofuoglu came to an end. The Frenchman fell victim to a violent crash at over 200 km/h during his 15th lap, fracturing his left tibia and dislocating his right shoulder. This is a bitter end to a textbook season where Jules took three wins, four second places, five fastest laps and an impressive six pole positions. For team Reparto Corse all that's left now is to defend their leadership in the manufacturer's championship. To give Lorenzo Zanetti a hand in this undertaking the team called on Nico Terol, 2011 world champion in the 125 class. Whilst awaiting news on Jules Cluzel's recovery time, the 26 year old Spaniard will be on the track tomorrow for qualifying astride the Frenchman's number 18 F3RC.
