Alicante rider poised to claim the crown at home round.

Javier Orellana (Europ Foods) arrives at the seventh round of the season for the Pata European Junior Cup – Powered by Honda in Jerez with a very good chance of clinching the title.

18-year-old Spaniard Orellana has 116 points on the board, which is 34 more than his closest rival, Frenchman Guillaume Raymond. Indeed, Orellana would have clinched the title at the last round at Misano, back in June, had he not been involved in a last-lap collision with Emanuale Pusceddu.

Javier Orellana would be crowned Champion at Jerez if:

- He finishes on the podium
- He is in the top 5 and Guillaume Raymond does not win
- He is 6th, Raymond is 3rd or lower and Paolo Grassia does not win
- He is in the top 10, Raymond is 4th or lower and Grassia does not win
- He is in the top 12, Raymond is 4th or lower and Grassia is 3rd or lower
- He is in the top 14, Raymond is 5th or lower and Grassia is 3rd or lower
- He is in the top 15, Raymond is 6th or lower and Grassia is off the podium
- Raymond is 7th or lower and Grassia is off the podium, regardless of Orellana’s result

However, there is a race within a race, as the battle also rages for honours in the Women’s Cup. With a 30-point lead over Hungarian Viktoria Kis, the rider with the advantage and in a position to clinch the title is New Zealand’s Avalon Biddle.

Avalon Biddle can clinch the Women’s Cup title at Jerez if:

- She wins the race in class
- She finishes 2nd or 3rd in class with Viktoria Kis not winning
- She finishes 4th in class with Kis 3rd or lower and Anastassia Kovalenko does not win
- If both Kis and Kovalenko fail to score points
