The new Mission Impossible Rogue Nation did not disappoint at the premier! I was blown away with the final product that has great dramatic and vulnerable performances and is very smart with flat out action from start to finish. The attention to detail is remarkable. The trailers are amazing but wait till you see the movie.
I had the pleasure of working with and learning from the best in the business on this movie! From the of Hollywood's all time greats Tom Cruise to stunt performers such as Rick English, Jimmy Roberts, Wolfgang Stegemann, Michael Li, Robert Nagle to name but a few. The challenge to deliver the director Christopher McQuarrie's vision was a huge test and responsibility. Legendary Stuntman & coordinator Wade Eastwood assembled a stellar team to achieve some truly ground breaking action sequences.
Prior to shooting the movie, the core stunt team, myself and Tom Cruise spent weeks preparing for Mission Impossible Rogue Nation. A true perfectionist, a talented athlete, Tom listened to every piece of advice and guidance elevating his experience to the competition level. It was truly impressive to see in action when shooting on location on motorways at high speed in the treacherous Atlas Mountains of Morocco, one mistake at anytime and it would have been game over.
I had a gentle word in my ear with a firm hand on my shoulder. "Please don't kill TC". I was literarily ready to eject, lay down, tuck the front, whatever was needed to protect him from danger as I’m in full protective clothing while shooting a sequence at over 120mph with TC in jeans, shirt and no helmet. To say I was nervous was an understatement, yet my concentration/reaction had never been higher. Real old school action sequences.
The attention to detail and all of the performances from all the cast putting themselves on the line for practical FX is remarkable! None more so than Mr Cruise himself, with his life in his own hands on more than one occasion, setting a new incredible benchmark for Hollywood's leading men. I hope the audience see and feel how real the action is when they see the best Mission yet. Out today!
