Jules Cluzel: "We will get a better idea about our rivals in Thailand"

The factory MV Agusta rider is happy with the outcome of the Australian Round.

After winning the opening World Supersport race of the season for the second year in a row, Jules Cluzel (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) is happy with the outcome of the Australian round, though he is already looking forward to the next event in the calendar, which will take place on March 22nd at Chang International Circuit in Thailand.

“I am really happy of how the weekend went,” Cluzel told WorldSBK.com moments after the race. “I was already feeling great on Saturday after qualifying but of course it’s the result you get on Sunday that really counts. I have always been the fastest since the first practice session and were able to show great things all weekend long. To be honest I’m looking more for the overall result rather than the single performance so I tried to save the tyres but in the end I was able to pull away for the win anyway.”

I thought Kenan (Sofuoglu) was the guy behind me but obviously I was happier to see my teammate in second place. I still think Sofuoglu will be my strongest rival this year but he won’t be the only one as I’m sure Zanetti, Rea and Smith will mix at the front, too. We will get a better idea in Thailand, a new track for everyone.”
