BMW rider highly encouraged by latest results.

Ayrton Badovini left Misano very much upbeat on Sunday night, having collected two more points finishes in the Riviera di Rimini Round. Notwithstanding a problem in Race 2, the BMW Motorrad Italia SBK Team rider believes even more can be extracted from the upcoming US Round at Laguna Seca on 19 July.

“I am very pleased with our performance in Race 1,” says the Italian, who finished seventh following battles with Michael van der Mark, Michele Pirro and reigning World Superbike Champion Sylvain Guintoli. “I was also enjoying the second race until a problem mid-race, which resulted in a big loss of grip; I just wasn’t able to ride as I wanted to. Nevertheless, we have worked well and collected a lot of data this weekend and that is going to enable us to improve even more.”

Badovini’s Race 2 problem had been a sudden loss of tyre pressure which meant his seventh place of Race 1 could not be matched. This time, he finished in 11th position.
