BMW rider finishes sixth in second Laguna encounter.

Despite stopping with a technical problem in the first Laguna Seca race, Ayrton Badovini was pleased to have fought back into the top six in the second.

In Race 1, the Italian ground to a halt with an issue beyond his control. However, this was not the case in the second race, which included a brave passing manoeuvre on Niccolo Canepa on the inside line of the rapid Turn 1.

“All in all, I’m happy with how the weekend went, even if we’ve had a few technical problems which we’ll work on as soon as we get home,” Badovini begins. “It was a pity about Race 1 because my position was good and we could have done well. Unfortunately, though, I had to stop because of a technical problem.

“In Race 2 I didn’t make the best start and was forced to play catch-up, but I was able to do that and score sixth place which I’m pleased with. Big thanks to my team for working to the max here at Laguna.”

Badovini’s sixth place finish in America equals his second-best result of the season so far, from Imola’s first race. However, his Imola Race 2 result remains the best to date, as this was when the BMW Motorrad Italia SBK Team rider broke into the top five.
