Alex Lowes is not making an assumption that he will be in a position to win the WorldSBK title in 2016. There is much speculation around his new bike, with Josh Brookes having claimed this year’s British Superbike crown on the Yamaha YZF-R1.

“I don’t think, because Josh has won BSB, that I’ll win WorldSBK next year,” Lowes states in the latest edition of Bike Sport News. “I’m not that silly to think that, but the potential is good as it’s new - and that isn’t something I have had before.”

The British rider has also revealed that Pete Jennings will not be his Crew Chief next year. Instead, Lowes will reunite with Ian Prestwood, alongside whom he wrapped up the BSB title on a Samsung Honda in 2013.
