Growing appeal of WorldSBK extends to Czech rider.

Following this year's arrival of Jordi Torres and Randy de Puniet, coupled with the recent announcement that Nicky Hayden will join Honda in 2016, the growing appeal of WorldSBK seems to have many other established riders looking seriously at their options within the series for the upcoming season. The latest rider to have expressed an interest is current MotoGP rider and former Moto2 race winner Karel Abraham who recently spoke to WorldSBK.com

“I have been in world championship environment since I was 15 and had some up and down seasons. Of course I have the best memories from Moto2 where I won a race and also from MotoGP especially with Ducati, where I had my best results. It is true that I have some opportunities in WorldSBK now and they seem to be very interesting.” Commented Abraham.

When pressed about the recent media reports linking him to a second Yamaha team he went on to say “At the moment we didn’t sign anything but there is a very important meeting coming up for us where we will discuss the possibilities with team principal Shaun Muir. After that both sides can decide.”

WorldSBK.com discussed a little the results of past MotoGP riders with Karel keen to put forward his thoughts on the subject. “Sometimes I get a bit confused about the performance of GP riders in WorldSBK or WorldSBK riders in MotoGP. You can’t really say if the bike will fit the rider well. Anyway it is always very hard to get adapted in a new class and of course everyone wants to win so if I come here I will do my best as I always have to be competitive.”
