The 4 time champ speaks of the WDW and the current WSBK season

Despite having retired from racing fourteen years ago due to the multiple injuries sustained in a crash at Phillip Island in 2000, four time World Superbike Champion Carl Fogarty is still one of the most known and respected motorcycle racers of all times. The 49 year old from Blackburn, England, was one of many former Ducati riders and current stars to attend the World Ducati Week last Weekend at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli”.

The massive crowds who took part in the event once again paid tribute to the ‘King’ and Fogarty did not hide his emotions about it: “It’s incredible, I have not been here for many many years and being here with all the crowds… it’s like I’m still racing. They still remember me and I’m so grateful for that.”

Speaking of the current World Superbike season for Ducati, he added: “Ducati is not up for the championship this year, but I hope to see one of them win a race before the end of the season. They are not so far away right now. The season has been a bit inconsistent and I’m sure the riders would say the same. Both of them are very, very fast, they can run up front but as I said consistency is the problem right now.”
