Ten Kate Racing and Yamaha end eight-season partnership

The Dutch team and the Japanese manufacturer have worked together since 2019, but will part ways now 2026 has concluded

Following the conclusion of the 2026 FIM Supersport World Championship campaign, Ten Kate Racing and Yamaha will end their partnership which started in 2019 in WorldSBK, and in 2020 in WorldSSP. The partnership claimed numerous wins and three Championships in World Supersport.

The two entities first linked up in 2019 with Loris Baz competing in WorldSBK, and that continued into 2020 when the Frenchman picked up four rostrums. That season was also the year Ten Kate Racing started using the R6 machine in WorldSSP, finishing sixth with Steven Odendaal. The following season, Dominique Aegerter joined the team and claimed 27 wins and 35 podiums from 44 races, leading to two world titles.

Following the Swiss rider’s move to WorldSBK, Stefano Manzi joined the squad and finished runner-up in both 2023 and 2024. The introduction of the R9 in 2025 was the catalyst for Manzi’s title charge as he won 11 races out of 24 and finished on the podium 20 times to claim the World Championship. Can Oncu has been at the helm for Ten Kate in 2026, winning one race and taking eight podiums. In total, the Ten Kate-Yamaha partnership claimed 48 wins and 99 podiums in WorldSSP, plus four from Baz in WorldSBK.

Andrea Dosoli, Division Manager in the Motorsport Division at Yamaha Motor Europe, said: “We would like to thank Ten Kate for everything over the past eight seasons. Their record in the Supersport World Championship spoke for itself before they joined Yamaha in 2019, and adding three World Championship titles to the tally has contributed towards Yamaha becoming the most successful manufacturer in WorldSSP history. We are disappointed to see them choose a new direction for 2027 but must thank Ronald and Gerrit Ten Kate and their team for all their efforts over the past eight years.”
