2026 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship runner-up Iker Lecuona (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) will return to the MotoGP paddock for his fourth replacement ride with the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP team in the 2026 Grand Prix season. This time, Alex Marquez underwent surgery on Monday, November 2nd, in a procedure in which they extracted osteosynthesis material from his right collarbone and left hand, with an additional arthroscopic bursectomy.
Last time he replaced the MotoGP #73, Lecuona bagged his career-best performance in that paddock, finishing P7, and has shown flashes of brilliance atop the Ducati Desmosedici in what has been his first season participating in MotoGP since 2023. He will share the track with his 2027 teammate, Franco Morbidelli, so keep an eye on the two at the Lusail International Circuit from November 6th to November 8th.
