The 2026 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship continues in Italy as the Cremona Circuit welcomes WorldSBK, WorldSSP and WorldSPB. At such a crucial stage in the season – just visits to Estoril and Jerez remain after (except WorldSPB, which will go straight to Jerez), which means plenty of titles can be won at the EICMA Italian Round.
HOW CAN BULEGA BE CHAMPION?
Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) is the Champion-elect, but he can knock off the ‘-elect’ part as soon as Race 1. If he outscores teammate Iker Lecuona by 15 points on Saturday, he’ll win the title. If not, it’s likely on Sunday, as he’d need to outscore the #7 by three points across Race 1 and the Tissot Superpole Race. In the unlikely event, based on 26 wins from 27 races, that doesn’t happen, 40 points for ‘Bulegas’ across all three races hands him the title regardless of Lecuona’s results.
INDEPENDENT TEAMS’ BATTLE
Barni Spark Racing Team could be celebrating on home soil as well. Marco Barnabo’s team could win the Independent Teams’ Championship in Race 1 as long as the team finishes Race 1 more than 161 points clear of the ELF Marc VDS Racing Team. The current gap is 168, so if Yari Montella and Alvaro Bautista combined score just six points fewer than Sam Lowes, the title heads to Barni Ducati.
WORLD SUPERSPORT TITLES
Every Championship in WorldSSP can be won at Cremona. Albert Arenas (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) can win the Riders’ Championship if he leaves Cremona with 101 points in hand over his rivals. To achieve this, he neds to outscore Valentin Debise (EASTROC ZXMOTO Evan Bros Factory) by 31 points across both races, Can Oncu (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing) by six and not lose points to Jaume Masia (Orelac Racing VerdNatura). Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) and Roberto Garcia (GMT94 Yamaha) can mathematically win the title but would need to outscore Arenas by at least 46 and 47 points respectively this weekend to remain in contention. In the Manufacturers’ Championship, Yamaha will win if they outscore Ducati by 29 points across the weekend. The Teams’ Championship can be won by the AS BLU CRU Racing Team if they leave Cremona 181 points clear of their rivals. The current gap is 150 points.
SALVADOR TITLE IN WORLD SPORTBIKE?
David Salvador (Team ProDina Kawasaki XCI) can be crowned Champion on Sunday at Cremona. The #38 will need a 50 or 51-point lead, depending on results, to secure the title with a round to spare. He currently leads Xavi Artigas (MTM Kawasaki) by 30 points, so needs to outscore the Spaniard by 20 or 21 points, while also not losing points to Antonio Torres (Team ProDina Kawasaki XCI) across the weekend, and losing at most 24 points to Carter Thompson (Team BrCorse). Several other riders are in mathematical contention, but need to outscore Salvador by a minimum of 34 points at Cremona to stay that way heading to Jerez.
