The EICMA Italian Round is just around the corner, and not yet satisfied with his near-complete coup of the various categories in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship record books, Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) stands at the doorway with his eyes locked on Alvaro Bautista's (Barni Spark Racing Team) 27-win season, standing as the current record for most wins in a single season.
208 – Andrea Locatelli (Pata Maxus Yamaha) and Axel Bassani (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) are tied at 208 race starts for 4th most starts by an Italian rider in WorldSBK.
173 – With 3 races run in Cremona, the total number of races on Italian soil will go up to 173. That stands as a record; Spain follows with 132 races so far.
127/131 – With 127 race starts for Yamaha, if Remy Gardner (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team) starts all three races this weekend, he will be just one behind Razgatlioglu with 131 all-time race starts with Yamaha.
54 – The last 54 races were won only from the first two grid spots: an unprecedented streak in history. The previous record was 21, from Jarama Race 1 to Mugello Race 1, 1991. The last race not won from P1 or P2 on the grid is Assen ’25, Race 2, won from 4th by Andrea Locatelli (Pata Maxus Yamaha).
53 – Cremona in 2024 became the 53rd track in WorldSBK history. It followed Navarra, Most and Mandalika, all introduced in 2021.
40 – Bulega continues to build on his record-best streak of races on the podium with 40. The next-best rivals are Colin Edwards and Toprak Razgatlioglu, with 25, respectively in 2002 and 2025.
26/27 – With 26 wins already this year, Bulega has the second-best season ever. Now he is only one win shy of Bautista’s 27-win all-time record set back in 2023.
22-23 – having logged 22 podium 1-2s in 2026 alone, Bulega and Lecuona have already sent themselves up to fifth on the all-time identical 1-2 leaderboards. Bautista-Rea sits ahead of them with 23, meaning the factory Ducati pair could overtake two riders in the ‘Titanic Trio’.
22 – Lecuona recorded 22 second-place finishes this season, a new season record. The previous record was by Toprak Razgatlioglu, 20 in 2023.
19 – Bautista has missed the podium only once; he finished sixth in 2024’s Tissot Superpole Race, with a record five out of six times on the rostrum.
17/32 – Ducati are on a streak of 17 consecutive podium lockouts and 32 fastest race laps.
16 – Bulega has recorded 16 Grand Slams this year (winning the race from pole, leading every lap and setting the fastest race lap). This stands as an all-time record, albeit data is only available since 1998.
14/18 – Ducati dominates the podiums score: 14 for them, 3 for BMW, 1 for Kawasaki.
11/11 – Bulega in Magny-Cours has equalled the all-time record for hat-tricks (winning all three races in one weekend) set by Toprak Razgatlioglu: 11.
10/11 – Bulega-Lecuona-Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team) have finished 10 times on the podium in that order; just one fewer than Razgatlioglu, Bulega and Bautista, as well as the Titanic Trio’s Razgatlioglu, Bautista, Rea 1-2-3, each of the latter trios finishing in that fashion 11 times. If the #11, #7 and #5 finish in that order over two races this weekend, they will break the record as the only trio to hit that mark in a single season.
10 – Ducati are on a streak of 10 pole positions, the second-best after they recorded 15 in a row from Mugello 1991 to Manfeild 1992.
6x6 – Ducati are the only winning manufacturer here: 3 wins with Petrucci in 2024 and 3 with Bulega last year.
5-5 – Bulega and Bautista share the record for podium finishes in Cremona, 5 each.
3 – It was at Cremona where Danilo Petrucci (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) took his famous hat trick back in 2024, leading both Sunday races from lights to flag. The races marked his first three WorldSBK wins, and his first World Championship win since Le Mans 2020 in MotoGP.
1 – Bulega is the only rider who recorded pole here, both last year and two years ago.
