The Anglo-Australian Superbike Advocates team and their rider Tommy Bridewell have inked a deal that will extend their partnership through the 2027 season. Having entered the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship for their first season at the World Championship level, the team’s rookie campaign has been a very successful debut so far as their British rider continues to collect top-ten finishes including a pair of top-five results.
REPLACEMENT RIDE REPS
While 2026 has been Bridewell’s rookie season as a full-time WorldSBK rider, he has been making appearances as a Wildcard and replacement rider as far back as 2008, where he appeared in a pair of races at Portimao atop a Suzuki GSX-R1000 K8. He returned for another pair of races in 2010, his first rides atop Honda machinery in the paddock, which after a 2019 season riding five races with a Ducati, he would return to ride 11 races with the Japanese manufacturer over the 2024 and 2025 season. During those two campaigns, he was also riding for Honda Racing UK in BSB, making WorldSBK appearances as a replacement rider when necessary.
SIEZING HIS OPPORTUNITY
A late addition to the 2026 grid, the Superbike Advocates squad has shown steps round after round this season: from scoring points in Race 2 in their debut round at Portimao, to their first top eight three rounds later at Most, then a pair of season-high P5s at Aragon and his home Round at Donington Park. Bridewell’s rapid adjustment to their Ducati Panigale V4R bike has earned the 2023 BSB champion a P15 place in the WorldSBK Riders’ Championship, and with his ascendant form, an improved finish after the final three rounds is certainly in the cards.

On his new contract with the team, Bridewell said: “I want to thank Lee and the team for this amazing opportunity. I think we've had a fantastic debut season in WorldSBK and I'm really looking forward to building on this year’s success in 2027. To have the opportunity to continue and to keep growing with such a great team is a dream come true and carrying that continuity into 2027 will be key, I think. There are a few changes on the horizon in WorldSBK in terms of tyres and things, so there’s that to consider, but the whole team has its sights set on the same goal: to do the very best we can. So, exciting times ahead for sure! The first goal is of course to round out the 2026 season as strong as we can. Then I think we’ll have maybe one day off after we cross the line at Jerez before work begins in preparation for 2027 – I can't wait to get going.”

Team Owner Lee Khouri has been pleased with his team’s early successes and looks forward to more in 2027. He said: “Tommy has been a huge part of our progress in our first WorldSBK season, and continuing together into 2027 was an easy decision. We’ve always said that we started this team as a family, and we will continue this journey as a family. We started from scratch with the ambition of fighting at the front, and while we’ve made incredible progress, there is still much more to come. I’m proud to have Tommy continuing this journey with us, and we’re excited for what 2027 will bring.”
