Rea on ‘THE GREATEST’: “I’m super grateful for all the effort that’s gone into this… WorldSBK has meant everything to me”

The all-time WorldSBK great spoke prior to a public screening of the new docuseries, which follows the Ulsterman’s gilded career

Ahead of his wildcard appearance at his home Prosecco DOC UK Round, six-time MOTUL FIM Superbike World Champion Jonathan Rea (Honda HRC Test Team) was glowing with praise for the all-new docuseries following his sensational WorldSBK career. ‘THE GREATEST’ takes fans closer than ever before to the rise, the dominance, and the emotional farewell to his full-time seat in the paddock he had called home for the last 18 years.

On the documentary, Rea said: “I’m really proud! I remember as a fan of motorcycles, I loved when they made their documentaries on Lorenzo, Casey and Marquez. I loved them as a fan, to understand them better as riders, and to watch them to see if I could get anything from them to help me as a rider. I’m super grateful for all the effort that’s gone into this. I’ve watched the first couple of episodes, but I know how it ends. I hope everyone enjoys it. WorldSBK has meant everything to me. They gave me a platform to live my dream. I think resilience is probably the word that resonates most with my career. There have been so many times when it’s been tough. Every motorcycle rider faces tough times; for us, that’s not a bad day at work. That means surgeries, rehabs; I’ve always managed to grit my teeth and overcome them. I was blessed to work with good people from the start of my career, from technicians, media people, photographers, people in hospitality; I was a small part on the bike of this big circus we’re all a part of.”
