Eurosport continues to follow the 2010 Superbike World Championship: after the first four rounds that have taken British rider Leon Haslam (Suzuki Alstare) to the top of the table, on May 9 the championship arrives in Italy for the first time this year at the Monza circuit. In the run-up to the Monza World Superbike Round this weekend, the Yahoo! Eurosport editorial team have the pleasure of welcoming Carlos Checa (Ducati Althea Racing), who is currently lying fourth in the table on 103 points.

Carlos Checa made his debut in 1992 in the 125 GP class and then moved up to 250 GP the following year. Two years later he made his debut in 500 GP and remained there until 2007. In 2008 Carlos switched to World Superbike on a Ten Kate Honda, finishing fourth after a splendid season in which he scored seven podiums, including a superb double win at Miller Motorsports Park. In 2010 he moved to the Ducati Althea Racing Team and began the season with a win in race 2 at Phillip Island.
