GRT Yamaha are off to the races in 2026 as they hold their official season launch event!
With the grid set and the preseason already underway, GRT Yamaha has cut the ribbon on this year’s campaign
With the 2026 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship season opener at Phillip Island less than a month away, the GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team has officially launched their attack on the crown! Striking a balance in their garage this season between experience and fresh blood, the official Yamaha squad are excited for this season and hopes to see more Yamaha blue leathers on the podium in 2026.
Australian rider Remy Gardner returns with the team for his fourth season in the Championship and his fourth season with the team. Gardner was hampered throughout 2025 by stubborn injuries, but the Aussie still managed to deliver strong results, including his second career WorldSBK podium in Race 2 at Assen. If he can stay healthy and show the top form he has given glimpses of in his time in the Championship so far, the #87 will be stiff competition this time around.
On his view of this upcoming season, Gardner said: “I can’t wait to be back and start a new season. This will be my fourth year with the team, and we have great chemistry, so I know we can achieve strong results together. 2025 was a demanding year: we started well and took a strong podium in Assen, but the second half of the season was more difficult, with some unfortunate accidents. I feel good now, and I’m confident we can enjoy a strong season together, fighting at the front and improving round by round.”
A new face across from him in the garage, 2025 WorldSSP Champion Stefano Manzi got the green light to make the jump up into the WorldSBK field after what was a masterful campaign from the Italian, holding off a posse of strong riders through consistently great results. Manzi will take the place of Dominique Aegerter (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team), who returns to WorldSSP, where he hopes to return to his two-time World Champion ways in the category.
Enthusiastic about the beginning of his WorldSBK chapter, Manzi said: “Here we are! 2026 will be my rookie season in WorldSBK, and I’m really excited to compete in the premier class for the first time. The feeling during the first test sessions was positive, both with the bike and with the team, so I’m looking forward to the season starting. I know the level in WorldSBK is extremely high, so we’ll take it step by step, focusing on improving every session and getting closer each time. I’d like to thank the GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team and Yamaha for their trust – I’m confident we can do a good job together.”
