The Spanish star opens up on a slightly “frustrating” Round 1, life under lockdown and more in this WorldSBK.com interview

They say that it’s not how you start the season, but how you finish it that matters – a statement which the Kawasaki Puccetti Racing team will be hoping holds true for a second consecutive year, after a disappointing start to the 2020 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship.

If in 2019 it was Toprak Razgatlioglu who failed to score in two of the three Australian races (and few will forget how his year eventually went), this season it was Xavi Fores leaving Phillip Island with just 5 points on the scoresheet after moments of misfortune in Race 1 and Race 2. Looking back, he admits: “I couldn’t show my potential, it’s a bit frustrating. You wait all the winter to start the season in a good way; to leave Australia with this result does not reflect the job we did during the weekend”.

Still, the 2018 Independent champion remains positive that when the season kicks off once more, his Puccetti ZX-10RR will be on par with their factory counterparts: “We have the potential to stay with them”.
