British rider replaces Hernández for Prosecco DOC UK Round

Luke Mossey (Team Pedercini Racing) will make his debut in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship this weekend at Donington Park, after late visa issues for regular rider Yonny Hernández (Team Pedercini Racing) meant that the Colombian would be unavailable to participate in the Prosecco DOC UK Round.

Mossey, 25, is a regular in the British Superbike Championship, where he has been racing since 2015, competing fiercely and developing into one of the most promising young British riders on two wheels. Mossey shares a team in British Superbikes with a familiar name to WorldSBK followers, Leon Haslam (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing), who will also be running at Donington Park this weekend as a Wild Card. The home sensation has vast experience at Donington Park, also running there in the British Supersport series.

The Team Pedercini rider will thus be the fourth rider to make his WorldSBK debut at the Prosecco DOC UK Round, with fellow national championship rivals Bradley Ray (Buildbase Suzuki), Gino Rea (OMG Racing UK) and Mason Law (Team WD40) also making their way onto the world stage. With these four home heroes joining the regular British bunch and eager to impress, there will be plenty to enjoy for the British fans at a stacked home race.

Lucio Pedercini, team manager, is excited at the prospect of Mossey’s arrival: “Luke Mossey is a young promising rider and will be really interesting to see how he will perform with our bike, since the usually race with a different model of Kawasaki. We have to immediately set the electronic part agreeing with his way of riding and his feeling, is not going to be easy but we will do our best”.
