Tuesday, 19 December 2017 12:08 GMT

The Australian makes an exciting return to the paddock with EAB Antwest Racing

After a couple of promising races last year, Anthony West and EAB Racing Team will join forces once again in the upcoming 2018 World Supersport season.  West hopes to shine aboard his works Kawasaki ZX-6R – powered by Puccetti Racing – much like he did at Jerez de la Frontera in 2017, where he finished the World Supersport race in a superb third place on the Puccetti Kawasaki.

“I’m very glad to finally announce what team I’ll race for next year,” announced West. "Thanks to Ferry Schoenmakers and Manuel Puccetti I’ll be riding a Kawasaki ZX-6R. As you can imagine I’m excited for this new challenge and building my team.”

From Maryborough Australia, the 36-year-old has a wealth of experience on the motorcycling world stage, having raced in almost every world championship from WorldSBK to MotoGP™, FIM Endurance, CEV Moto2, as well as taking on various categories in MotoAmerica and AsiaSS600. West will be looking to take advantage of his racing expertise and convert his many years on-track into wins next season, adding, "I have put together four mechanics with a bike I know I can win races on. I hope to grow my team for the future, but right now I’m focused on winning races next season in World Supersport."

EAB Racing Team Manager Ferry Schoenmakers is confident that the Australian has the right package for 2018 success, saying, “We are very happy to work with Anthony again. He’s a great guy and he knows how to ride a bike fast as we’ve seen at Jerez this year and during many more races in the past. I would like to thank Manuel Puccetti for his support in helping us realise this World Supersport project. At the moment it’s hard to make any prediction as there are so many talented riders on the entry list, but we hope we can fight for at least the podium next year.”

Anthony West will have his first chance to impress on home soil at Phillip Island on February 24th - 25th when the lights go out for Round 1 of the 2018 FIM Supersport World Championship and don’t miss a minute of the action with WorldSBK VideoPass.
