Lecuona claims P1 in a sunny Sunday Warm Up session, two tenths ahead of his teammate while Baldassarri gives chase

The Championship is chomping at the bit to get rolling with race action to come on Sunday

The MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship rang in the final day of action at Autodrom Most with their Warm Up session at The Czech Round on Sunday. Iker Lecuona (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) sent his name to the top of the timesheet as he recorded the fastest time of the 10-minute session. Behind him, his teammate Nicolo Bulega led Lorenzo Baldassarri (Team GoEleven).

It looks like another battle between teammates is in the cards on Sunday as Iker Lecuona (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) led his factory Ducati teammate with a 1’30.481s time. Championship leader Nicolo Bulega is just behind, finishing in second, two tenths slower. Lorenzo Baldassarri (Team GoEleven) looks for a podium finish on Sunday at Most with a 1’30.912s lap good for P3.

Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team) is back in action after his Race 1 crash, finishing P4, just over half a tenth behind Baldassarri. Axel Bassani (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) took top non-Ducati honours in P5 with his time of 1’30.985s. Alberto Surra (Motocorsa Racing) was the next on the order with a 1.31.014s time and placed P6.

Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team) was just under two tenths slower than the rookie WorldSBK rider, taking P7 ahead of  Garrett Gerloff (Kawasaki WorldSBK Team), who will hope to once again fight for the top five across Sunday’s two races, his 1’31.195s  time earning him P8 in the Warm Up, just a thousandth slower than  Montella. Rounding out the top ten, British riders Alex Lowes (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) and Tarran Mackenzie (MGM Optical Express Racing) top P9 and P10 with 1’31.277s and 1’31.444s times respectively.
