Sofuoglu Topped the Timesheets in FP1 at Jerez

Kawasaki rider focussed on weekend ahead

WorldSSP began their racing weekend on Friday morning with Free Practice 1 at 11:30am on the 14th of October. Kenan Sofuoglu (Kawaskai Puccetti Racing) led for the entire session proving he will be tough to beat at the Gaerne Spanish Round as he inches ever closer to his fifth World Title. Just behind in second was his teammate Randy Krummenacher who was only 0.424 seconds slower, demonstrating he’ll put up a strong fight for the Championship this weekend. PJ Jacobsen (Honda World Supersport Team) gave another solid performance in the morning session, finishing in third.

FIM Europe Supersport Cup contender Illia Mykhalchyk (DS Junior Team) ended the morning in fourth, while Gino Rea (GRT Racing Team) was fifth fastest. GEMAR Balloons – Team Lorini’s Ayrton Badovini came home sixth fastest with fellow Italian Axel Bassani (San Carlo Team Italia), who is also in contention for the ESS Cup finished, in seventh.

Winner from last time out, Jules Cluzel (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) ended eighth on the timesheets while Roberto Rolfo (Team Factory Vamag) came ninth with Lorenzo Zanetti (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) locked out the top ten.

World Supersport will be back out on track at 14:45 local time (GMT+2) battling for entry to Saturday’s Tissot-Supeprpole 2 session to decide Sunday’s grid.
