21-year-old Gaetan Matern will move over to the WorldSBK paddock for 2019 as he is set to contest in the 2019 European World Supersport Cup aboard the Kawasaki ZX-6R of Flembbo Leader Team.
Born in Strasbourg, Matern won the Pirelli Trophy in the French Supersport 600 and debuted in WorldSSP at his home round in France last year. The Frenchman qualified 28th around Magny Cours but due to a technical issue, he had to retire on Sunday’s race. Heading now into his first European WorldSSP season with the same team he made his wildcard appearance last year, the Frenchman hopes to make a quick progression in the class for 2019.
