Camier out for Imola race
Leon Camier (Aprilia Alitalia) will not race at his team's home race as a result of the wrist injury he suffered in practice of the German round a couple of weeks ago. He has had an operation to repair his broken scaphoid, but the best medical advice is that he does not race in Italy, while he may still have a chance to ride in the final round at Magny-Cours on October 3.

Said Leon, "The doctors have said if I came back too early the bone could rub together and it may die and that would be a real problem. The scaphoid is not a normal bone, it is a very delicate situation. The operation went well, all done under X-rays so no real scar tissue. Now I am doing hyperbaric training to get back soon as I can and we are also looking at other therapies I can do. I may be able to come back and race in France but we need to see how things are."
