Max NeukirchnerMax Neukirchner has been forced to miss his home round at the Nürburgring after undergoing two separate operations to stabilize the vertebrae injuries he suffered in testing at Imola in July.

Specialist Dr. Stöckel operated on Max in hospital at Chemnitz. In the first phase the smashed thoracic vertebra was stabilized with screws. The second procedure was carried out three days later in order to set the other damaged vertebrae, in the lumbar region.

Despite the recent operations Max will be at the Nürburgring in order to take part in several campaigns for Suzuki as well as take care of his fans.

Neukirchner was understandably disappointed with the latest developments, but is resigned to his situation. Alstare Brux Suzuki Team manager Francis Batta has decided to give Australian Karl Muggeridge a no-pressure ride on Max Neukirchner's GSX-R1000 K9 at Nürburgring on September 6.

At 35 years of age, Muggeridge is in his fifth season in World SBK and this year he started out in the Celani Suzuki squad. In its WSB career Muggeridge has scored two fourth place finishes, at Monza and Magny-Cours for his Ten Kate Honda team, having moved up from WSS after winning the title in the 600cc class in 2004.

Muggeridge has already competed in Alstare colours before, when he rode a GSX-R600 in the Supersport class for Batta in 2001.
