Aitchison to replace Lundh at Silverstone

Former WSBK regular rider Mark Aitchison will step in for injured Alexander Lundh in the upcoming UK Round at Silverstone, for a one-off return to Team Pedercini Kawasaki.

The Australian, who contested the whole 2011 season with the Italian squad, has already taken part in three rounds of the current year with Team Effenbert Liberty Racing, before the Czech team decided to withdraw from the series after the Italian event at Monza.

"Obviously I'm very happy" said Mark Aitchison "to have the opportunity to ride again for the Pedercini squad. I have alot of fond memories from the 2011 season with them and I'm sure this weekend will add another story to the chapter. Honestly I really cannot know what to expect from the weekend ahead. I'm not so familiar with the current spec Pedercini Kawasaki Superbike and I have not been on board a bike since the Monza round of the championship, so almost 3 months at this point. In any case, I would like to say thank you to the Pedercini family again for this opportunity and to wish Alex Lundh a speedy recovery form his wrist injuries. I look forward to racing at Silverstone, which is a circuit I really enjoy and working with all the crew".
