The Magny-Cours circuit witnessed the first session of the last round of the year today, with Jonathan Rea (Honda World Superbike Team) leading Pata Racing Team Ducati rider Sylvain Guintoli and official Suzuki runner Leon Camier (FIXI Crescent Suzuki).

The usually fast Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) is one of the quick men once again in fourth. Rookie rider Davide Giugliano (Althea Racing Ducati) ran out fifth and championship leader Max Biaggi (Aprilia Racing Team) sixth.

Leon Haslam (BMW Motorrad Motorsport) fell in the session but still posted a lap time good enough for seventh, one ahead of his team-mate Marco Melandri, who is one of three championship challengers still in contention for the title this weekend.
