Laverty fastest today but Fabrizio enters Tissot-Superpole as the class leader

With track conditions at Monza damp after heavy overnight rain not all the top riders went out in the early part of the second qualifying session this morning. When they did, after the track had started to dry out, Eugene Laverty (Aprilia Racing) was fastest in this session and not far from the best times set on Friday in the warm and dry opening session. Nonetheless, it will be Michel Fabrizio (BMW Motorrad Italia Gold Bet) who enters the Tissot-Superpole session as the fastest rider.

Combined qualifying is a mirror of Friday's first session, with Fabrizio at the top, from Marco Melandri (BMW Motorrad Motorsport), Leon Haslam (BMW Motorrad Motorsport) and Laverty. All 23 competing riders qualified, with the top 16 now going forward to Tissot-Superpole this afternoon.
