Checa prepares for next challenge
Prior to the summer break, the Althea Racing squad and rider Carlos Checa secured a double win at Silverstone, extending Checa's championship lead as a result to 62 points over second-placed Biaggi.

Carlos will line up for his 101st start in SBK at the Ring this coming weekend, determined to add to his podium tally (he has finished top three in fifteen of the eighteen races held so far). With four rounds to go and 200 points still on the table, the Spaniard will be looking to consolidate his leadership status.

During the month long break Carlos has kept himself active, participating in a triathlon in Spain and spending time in Italy, where he had the opportunity to climb to the Castore peak of the Monte Rosa mountain range and take in spectacular views from 4220m! "Having taken this important result for Ducati at Silverstone, and seeing as I am a mountain climbing enthusiast, some of my friends invited me to join them at Monte Rosa" said Checa.

"One of the things I really wanted to do was take Ducati's 300 victory flag to the highest point in Italy. So we took it up to the Castore peak, at 4220m. A great day and a wonderful experience at high altitude! I enjoyed the holidays, carrying out various activities, training but having fun at the same time. I now feel ready to face the next challenge: Nurburgring."
