Rolfo returns to winning ways in Italian Superbike
Pedercini Kawasaki's World Superbike rider Roberto Rolfo stepped onto the top of the Italian domestic championship podium for the first time in 14 years, in the opening round of CIV Superbike yesterday at Misano.

From third on the grid, Rolfo got a great start to take the lead but the race was immediately stopped after a first-corner crash. In the second part Rolfo was unable to repeat his good start but after a few laps was right on the tail of leader Matteo Baiocco. With seven laps remaining he passed Baiocco and held on to score a great win, his first in Pedercini Kawasaki colours.
The last win for a Kawasaki in CIV dates back to 2003, while Roby's last CIV victory was in 1997 in the 250 GP race at Misano.

"I'm really happy because the work we did over the last couple of days on our Kawasaki has produced the right results," said Rolfo. "The team and I improved throughout the weekend and in Saturday qualifying I was able to push harder and harder. Together with the Andreani technicians we also improved the set-up of the bike, making a clear step forward from the two Donington WSBK races with the feeling. I didn't come to Misano just to make up the numbers, and I was aiming to score a great result. I'm satisfied with the win because it's my first with the Pedercini team and with the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R."
