Barrier aims to bounce back at Portimao

Sylvain Barrier (BMW Motorrad GoldBet) is seeking redemption after last month's unfortunate no score at Monza. The defending STK1000 Champion was involved in a multiple crash at the opening lap of the race - that was red flagged straight after - and couldn't make it to the restart. Barrier, early leader in the first two rounds of the season, lies now 3rd in the standings, just 7 points behind Niccolò Canepa, and he's aiming to make his way to the top again as the series resumes at Portimao this weekend.

"What happened in Monza was unfortunate, really, but that's racing. After the crash I really wanted to take part to the restart but for a series of circumstances I had to sit out of the race. I wasn't injured, my leg was just a bit sore so I'm perfectly fit and ready to take on the next challenge at Portimao this weekend. I really love the track and I know that if we do our job, we'll be right at the front battling for the win. Last week we did a test at Aragon and we were able to evaluate some new parts for our HP4, I'm happy of what we found. Overall I'm confident about the race ahead and I can't wait to be back on track."
