Leonov eager to try the MV Agusta F3

Vladimir Leonov has endured a challenging second year in the Supersport World Championship, due to a knee injury suffered in the opening round of 2013 at Phillip Island. The 26 year old from Moscow chose to avoid every operation in order not to miss any round, eventually dealing with the pain from the joint for the whole season.

Two weeks ago the Russian rider finally underwent surgery and he is now following an intense rehabilitation programme that will allow him to be on track, with the Yakhnich Motorsport Team, for the two-day test at Jerez, scheduled for November 25-26.

Leonov will have a chance to get to grips, for the first time ever, with the MV Agusta F3 he is going to ride in 2014: "I'm very excited to start working on this new project" said Vladimir Leonov. I really like the F3 and during one round I was even able to sit on it, but I can't wait to try it out. It's really good for me to keep working with the same team and staff, I'm confident we can deliver some good results."

Leonov took part yesterday in a charity event at the Orekhovo-Zuyevo orphanage and school (90km east of Moscow), during which he took the time to meet with 43 kids between 5 and 16 years of age, to talk about motorsport and let some of them wear his racing gear. Some of those kids were involved last July in a special visit of the Moscow Raceway, during the Russian Round of WSBK. Leonov also bought a large cooker and a washing machine to help the institute in its day-to-day activities.
