Successful jaw surgery for Gabor Talmacsi

Gabor Talmacsi (Prorace Honda) has undergone a successful surgery last week in his native Hungary, to correct a fractured jaw sustained in the early minutes of World Supersport Free Practice 1 at Phillip Island, after a heavy crash at Turn 2. The two-hour surgery was carried out without any complication at Szeged Hospital - Albert Szent-Györgyi Clinic Center Department of Oral And Maxillofacial Surgery. Doctors in charge of the operation removed Talmacsi's wisdom teeth and inserted a metal plate into his broken jaw. Talmacsi's rehab duration is still unknown.

"First of all, I'd like to reassure everyone that I'm fine" said Gabor Talmacsi. "Of course I still have pain, but I really hope to be ready to race soon. I would like to thank Prof. József Piffkó DMD, MD Head of Department, who performed the surgery and Dr. Emil Segatto. I will do my best to recover as fast as possible!"
