After recovering from 10th on the grid, Loi grabs victory on the final lap as the top six move forward to tomorrow’s race

Livio Loi (2R Racing Team) secured his place on the grid for tomorrow’s WorldSSP300 race at Magny-Cours after fighting his way to the front of a six-rider leading group. The final spots in tomorrow’s main event were up for grabs all the way to the end, with the last place changing hands within sight of the chequered flag.

Kevin Sabatucci (Team Trasimeno Yamaha), winner at Donington Park earlier this year, was one of the surprising names in the Last Chance Race, along with his team-mate Hugo De Cancellis who currently lies 8th in the WorldSSP championship standings. Both riders enjoyed spells at the front as they aimed to stay out of trouble in a frenetic race.

A well-timed slipstream on the final run to the Adelaide hairpin saw Livio Loi take victory with De Cancellis finishing a safe second. Late drama followed with Adrien Quinet (TGP Racing) making contact with Beatriz Neila (BCD Yamaha MS Racing) three corners from home while challenging for third. The contact allowed Sabatucci to snatch P3 from Neila while Quinet dropped to an unfortunate seventh, ruling him out of tomorrow’s race. The final two spots on the grid go to Toni Erhard (Freudenberg KTM WorldSSP Team) and Jacopo Facco (Semakin Di Depan Biblion Motoxracing).
