Randy Krummenacher is on top of the WorldSSP standings yet again, with a dominant display Down Under!

Randy Krummenacher (BARDAHL Evan Bros. WorldSSP Team) took a dominant victory in the season opening race in the FIM Supersport World Championship at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. The Swiss sensation stormed clear of his opponent to take a second win on the ‘The Island’ and carry the championship lead into the Pirelli Thai Round at the Chang International Circuit.

After a good battle with teammate Federico Caricasulo, Krummenacher got the upper hand in the mid-race tyre change, taking advantage of his teammate’s bad luck. With a healthy margin, Krummenacher was able to cruise home on the final lap and kick-start his season in style.

Winning on his birthday, an elated Krummenacher said: “It is the best way possible to celebrate, especially as all my family is here with me. It is the perfect day! The team did a great job, the pit-stop was really not easy, and they did great work. I kept calm and together we won, which is great!

“There are strong competitors always, and we have to stay focused in our work. We have to work hard, we have to improve, and sure, going to Thailand where we have a great pace already from last year will help to do another great race!”

Krummenacher will face stiff opposition in Thailand, with teammate Federico Caricasulo also a winner at the ‘Destination of Speed’.
