Australian gets chance to shine in front of his home fans

With some strong FIM Supersport World Championship experience under his belt, Aiden Wagner will have his chance to shine this weekend as he is set to stand in for Andrew Irwin at the CIA Landlord Insurance Honda team, as the Northern Irish rider has been forced to sit out with injury.

Crashing in this morning’s opening WorldSSP session around the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, Irwin was transported to Melbourne hospital with a fracture to his hand and was ruled out of the opening round of the season. Despite the devastating blow for the young rookie, Australian fans will be delighted with his replacement, as 23 year old Wagner will swing his leg over the CBR600RR.

Frist racing in WorldSSP back in 2015 on a Kawasaki, Wagner has appeared in the class every season since, taking points for the GRT Racing Team in 2016 and for GEMAR Team Lorini in 2017.
