The Irish rider is quoted in MCN as being interested in taking hold of the new V4 next season

Coming off of back-to-back podiums in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship for the first time since 2013, Eugene Laverty (Milwaukee Aprilia) is already looking forward to what the 2019 season may have to offer.

With next year’s grid slowly taking shape, the Irish rider is intent on securing a ride that will help him climb to the top of the podium and battle for the championship. According to Motorcycle News, Laverty has identified the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team and the new V4 as the bike to bid for.

The publication interviewed Laverty for its July 11th print edition, with the current Aprilia rider showing his confidence and willingness to extract the potential from the new V4: “A strong line-up of Chaz and me is what that project needs. Rinaldi is there as the third rider, but a new bike needs experienced riders. I enjoy winning and I need to make sure I can do that”, Laverty is quoted as saying.

Will the Irish rider swap one red machine for another next year? While we find out how next season’s riders will set up, relive all the action from Laverty’s Laguna Seca and Misano podiums, thanks to the WorldSBK VideoPass.
