German rider has his first opportunity to be crowned king

Sandro Cortese (Kallio Racing) could become the first man ever to be crowned the FIM Supersport World Champion and Moto3™ World Champion, as the WorldSSP class prepares to make their debut around Circuito San Juan Villicum. But what does Cortese need to do to secure the crown with one round remaining? He currently sits at the top of the standings with an 11 point lead over Jules Cluzel (NRT), but he hasn’t won a race since Donington Park back in May. We take a look over his chances:

If Cortese wins the race:

  • Cluzel has to finish sixth or lower

If Cortese finishes in second:

  • Cluzel has to finish 11th or lower
  • Randy Krummenacher (BARDHAL Evans Bros. WorldSSP Team) has to finish in third or lower

If Cortese finishes in third:

  • Cluzel has to finish 15th or lower
  • Krummenacher has to finish 4th or lower

Keep up with the WorldSSP title chase this weekend from the MOTUL Argentinian Round, as the lights go out for the race at 14.30LT (GMT -3) and the fight begins. All action can be followed on the WorldSBK VideoPass.
