BARDAHL Evan Bros. WorldSSP team prepare for start of 2018
Changes and updates welcome challenges for Italian team
A new season welcomes new challenges for the BARDHAL Evan Bros. WorldSSP team, as 2018 welcomes a switch to Yamaha and a new rider in Randy Krummenacher, and the Italian team are ready for the fight.
Krummenacher, who announced his signing last year, has two seasons of experience in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship paddock and was a WorldSSP title contender in 2016. Despite missing out on the second half of the 2017 with injury, positive pre-season tests leave the 27 year old full of confidence and happy with his fitness. Looking forward to returning to the competitive class, the Swiss rider will ride the YZF-R6 for the first time which was unveiled last week.
“I’m very pleased to be part of the Bardahl Evan Bros. Team,” began Krummenacher. “I immediately had good feeling with the team and I really like the Yamaha R6. I think we have a very competitive package. Everything went well during winter testing, despite me having to readapt to the 600 after a year in Superbike and a four-month break following my wrist injury at the Lausitzring. I’ve recovered well from that and didn’t even experience any pain after three days of testing. I’m ready and cannot wait to race at Phillip Island, a track that I like and where I won what was my debut Supersport race. I thank my sponsors for the faith they have in me.”
Heading into its third year as a WorldSSP team, BARDAHL Evan Bros. Team are looking forward to building a new relationship with Yamaha, and are welcoming new members into the garage to help build and develop the bike.
Team principal Fabio Evangelista adds: “We are very determined and keen to see how we will compare to our rivals at the first Supersport round. We have changed a great deal while still retaining the same strong team spirit. Winter testing has been positive and has helped us better understand the bike. Randy has proved very fast and extremely professional and his feeling with our technical team is already excellent. We have made a real effort to organise the team and we will be aiming for significant results.”
