Strong day for Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team

After experiencing heartbreak in the opening race, Michael van der Mark (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK) was able to take a strong end to his home weekend at he Acerbis Dutch Round, securing fourth position in front of thousands of fans who flocked to see the Dutch rider.

Starting the race from low down on the grid, he has a hard job to work his way through, but he made some strong passes early on in the race and was up in the top five fight in the early parts of the race. Chasing down Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) for third position, he had a I big moment on the 10th lap which

"It's amazing as always," beams van der Mark. "I crashed out early in the race and I was so disappointed . Today we stared warm up and had a good pace but starting so low on the grid was not ideal, and my start was not really good but not really bad either, I think I got my position and then I start to work during the race. I started to overtake some people and every time  I overtook it was just perfect overtakes, I had no fights and just get on with my own race. I was closing on Chaz, we were doing a similar pace and I had some moments on the back parts of the track and after that I decide to calm down a bit. The last few laps were really difficult and I struggled with the tyres because I pushed them early on in the race."

Alex Lowes (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team) also had a more positive Sunday, taking a top five position around the TT Assen Circuit following a crash in race one on Saturday.

Struggling with a mid-pack start for the second race of the weekend, the British rider took a few laps to adjust to the pace of the race and work through the field. However in the second half he was able to get a rhythm he was happy with and pushed for the remainder of the laps for the top five finish.

Happier with his end to the weekend, Lowes talks us through his feelings: "Honestly I'm really happy with the second race, the whole weekend has been quite tough for me, we didn't quite get the feeling with the bike but we managed to get a fifth, it's really good. The first ten laps of the race were really difficult, I couldn't get the rhythm and there was lots of lads around me but the last ten laps I was quite strong and quite competitive and it was a really enjoyable race to pass those guys and I'm looking forward to Imola. To have three weekends off before this race I didn't enjoy it but now we have one weekend off and we can get to Imola a lot better off and try to get our first podium of the year."
