At the helm of his Ninja ZX-10RR, the 20-year-old Turkish rider started from fourth position on the grid but gained ground very quickly, and led the way before the end of the first lap. When Rinaldi, his main rival in the Championship, fell in the early stages of the race, Toprak took the clear run and left everyone behind, to cruise to victory, crossing the line with a margin of 1,813 seconds.

"I am very happy to have won again because I think this has been my best race so far. We are also now at the top of the Championship," said the Kawasaki rider after taking the podium.

Razgatlioglu debuted last year on STK1000. He came from dominating in the final season of Superstock 600 in 2015, and therefore came into STK1000 as a favorite. However he picked up an injury at Phillip Island, where he made his in WorldSBK as a substitute for Josh Hook, ended up preventing his championship charge. He was able to secure two podiums which saw him end the season in fifth position.

Razgatlioglu leads the STK1000 Championship with 79 points, while Rinaldi is second with 70. In addition to the individual success, Toprak's victory at Donington now means Kawasaki lead the Constructors' Championship with a three-point lead.

"I have to thank the team because they have done a great job. Now I look forward to the challenge at Misano "said Razgatlioglu ahead of the fifth STK1000 race, held on June 18 at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. With the circuit classed as 'home' for rival Rinaldi and also for Ducati, it will be a true test of fire for the fresh set of young Turkish talent.
