Turkish rider cements early season pace in competitive class

Up and coming talent Toprak Razgatlioglu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) secured victory in the re-started European Superstock 1000 Championship race at the Acerbis Dutch Round, with a dominant performance.

Starting the race from second position, it’s clear the young rider enjoys riding around the iconic TT Circuit Assen as he put in a solid pace with his ZX-10RR Ninja. Getting a strong start off the line, Razgatlioglu led the full 12 lap race from the lights to the flag, naturally thrilled to see such a mature ride pay off. We have now seen two dominant performances in the opening STK1000 Rounds of 2017, following Michael Rinaldi’s (Aruba.it Racing – Junior Team) win around MotorLand Aragon.

Sitting in second position in the championship standings, the 20 year old sits seven points behind Rinaldi, meaning all will be to play for in the ever competitive title race.

Razgatlioglu explained his joy at securing his first victory of the season: “This was the first time I have won in STK1000, and it was also a first win for the latest Kawasaki, so I am really happy. We have done a good job this weekend and to win this early in the season was important for us.”

STK1000 action will be back on track in just over a week’s time, at the historic Imola Circuit in Italy, in which we saw another dominant performance from Leandro Mercado. It will be all about perfecting race set-up, but who will come out on top?
