South African narrowly misses out on victory in WorldSSP thriller

World Supersport always guarantee’s close and fast racing, and Sunday’s race at the Pirelli Aragon Round was no exception. Sheridan Morias (Kallio Racing) took second position in Round Three of the WorldSSP series, and was just 0.014s behind race winner Lucas Mahias (GRT Yamaha Official WorldSSP Team) over the line.

Locked in a fight for the duration of the 16 lap race, the South African was unable to beat his fellow Yamaha rider around the final lap. Attempting to break away from the pack and take the lead, Morias was unable to make the break and as a result leaves MotorLand Aragon with 20 points.

However the 32 year old is happy with the result from a tough race: “I am definitely happy, if we were second by a long way then maybe we wouldn’t have been that happy, but I am content that we can race at the front at every race. It was a great race, I tried to put my head down at the lead and I pushed to break away, but obviously, it’s really difficult in this category. In the end, we were close to win, but I’m happy with the second place and I want to say thank you for my team for that.”
