South African enjoys the battle for the podium in The Netherlands

Sheridan Morais (Kallio Racing) had a strong end to his weekend at the World Supersport Championship at the Acerbis Dutch Round, as the South African rider was able to secure a top five finish under sunny Dutch skies.

Locked in a battle for second position around the circuit which is renowned for producing fast and close racing, Morais was unable to keep up the pace with the fighting pack and crossed th line in fifth position, not far off PJ Jacobsen (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) in fourth.

Continuing to make improvements with his YZF R6, the 32 year old hopes to go to Imola fighting for the victory as this is what he goes out racing for.

“It wasn’t a bad race, explains Morais. “We were fighting at the front, but Kenan had a gap on us and he’d been strong all weekend. It was a good race for second position nonetheless and we kept it up all the way through, we didn’t end up where we wanted to be but the good thing is that we’re fighting every race now. It’s not bad for the championship, but we’re looking for the win, that’s what matters to me. We have a few things to change, every round we are making improvements. We have a few issues with the front end that we’re working on and if we get that dialled I think we will be closer to the front guys.”
