Lowes: "I’m going to have a good go a getting our first podium"
Pole man for tomorrow has a strong feeling following Saturday
Alex Lowes (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team) bounced back from a tough qualifying at MotorLand Aragon to take a strong fourth position, which means he will then start from pole under the new guidelines for 2017.
Lowes stated from 12th position in race one in the Pirelli Aragon Round and following a tough battle with his team-mate, he was able to come out on top and take the honours as the top Yamaha rider. Struggling with the strong winds around the Spanish circuit, he hopes to make some modifications in order to tackle the weather which is hitting Aragon.
Confident ahead of Sunday’s race, Lowes explained: “We had a difficult qualifying where we didn’t get to put a lap in so we started from 12th, and after then I think we did a really good job. It was a good race, I think we had a really good pace and it gives me a lot of confidence for tomorrow. In terms of the grid for tomorrow, I think that the new rule changes seem to work well for me, and I’m going to have a good go at getting our first podium. I enjoyed it today, it was a great race and I’m looking forward to tomorrow.”
