First podium of the season for American

Making the step onto the podium for the first time in 2017, PJ Jacobsen (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) was happy to achieve this first step with the Italian manufacturer, but is hoping to improve on his feeling with the bike ahead of the next rounds.

Involved in a stunning World Supersport race which brought drama from start to finish, Jacobsen was able to be involved with the fight from start to finish but didn’t have the confidence in the front end of his machine to make a move in the closing laps.

Looking to work on the bike and be even closer to the fight from Round Four at Assen, Jacobsen explains: “It’s good to be on the podium for MV, we’ve had pole positions and fastest laps but it’s good to finally achieve the podium. I’m not too happy about the race; I think I could have done a bit better with the front feeling with the tyre. I was really struggling throughout the whole race, I had no feeling and it was like ice.”

However the American looks at the positives to take from MotorLand Aragon: “I’m happy to get third, to just move onto the next race and to make a big step, most importantly to not let the points get away. The key is consistency and the way some of these guys are riding, not all of us are going to be finishing, so I’m looking forward to be finishing races - that’s how you achieve the goal.”

“I don’t think I would have made it if I went for it,” the 22 year old explains his last lap fight. “I had a lunge at Mahais the lap before when I was behind him, but had a huge moment at the front so I really don’t think I would have made it stick, so I’ve just got to move onto the next race.
