Female wildcard set for MotorLand Aragon appearance

Andalusian rider Andrea Sibaja will make her debut on an international stage next weekend at MotorLand Aragon, as the female rider will enter as a wildcard in the World Supersport 300 class with Deza-Córdoba Patrimonio de la Humanidad.

Runner up in the FIM CIV Repsol 600 Women’s Cup last season despite suffering with an injury, Sibaja has a strong desire to impress in the inaugural race for the world class. Crowned the first female regional champion back in 2014, the 24 year old has continued to rise up through the ranks, and impresses in each class she rides in.

Racing with the Deza-Córdoba Patrimonio de la Humanidad Team, Sibaja has strong backing behind her heading into MotorLand, as it is a team she has worked with for many seasons. Excited about the events that lie ahead, the Spanish rider looks forward to competing in-front of her home fans on the world stage.

"I'm excited!" Andrea said at her team launch on Thursday. "We have been working on this project for a long time and we had a lot of possibilities, so until it became official I was very nervous. I only started to race a little while ago and even in my wildest dreams, I could not imagine coming to a World championship. I would like to thank the sponsors who have supported me, all the people who supported me and of course, the DEZA team. - CORDOBA Heritage, who it would not have been possible to compete with last season. I had to work very hard over the winter to reach this dream, both in the gym and with the physiotherapist to be able to continue racing with the best conditions."

Sibaja will join two other female racers competing in the class next weekend at MotorLand Aragon, with Ana Carrasco and Avalon Biddle taking on the new series, which commences on Friday 31st March in FP1.
